I did mean to bring up that Lochte, had preferential treatment as an athlete… on top of his “white privilege”… Let’s just talk about this year’s Olympics… why did Gabby Douglas get so much heat? She was humiliated, and for what? Because of a rule, meaning that even though she qualified — she couldn’t compete in the Individual All-Around. I’d be upset too, anyone in that situation would be feeling all sorts of emotions — but the internet/media annihilated this beautiful, talented, young lady. She did nothing wrong, you can’t blame her for being human…

There are too many instances that when an athlete of color makes a mistake, the media (and society) hangs them out to dry… but other famous athletes example: Michael Jordan… if you ask a white person they “don’t count” as being black? um excuse me? Just because a minority is perceived as perfect and happens to be an exceptional athlete — then and only then — does skin color not matter.

Something that happens in society — people are waiting for minorities to make a mistake, we aren’t allowed to make mistakes — and if or when we do, we pay double the price. But then you have Ryan Lochte fabricating a story, and going on live tv, going viral about something that didn’t happen. And isn’t this the media? I mean, people were waiting — for something to happen in Rio? “Brazil is corrupt, Brazil is a third-world country” that’s what the media was waiting for… they took it an ran with it. It just so happened to be a lie… if it were an athlete of color, who had done what those miscreants did… the US would have extradited them, they would have been hung up to dry.
